I made this quilt for my mom last year for Christmas. She always said the cardinal was my dad's (dad died in 2000) favorite bird and so when ever we see one, which is rare in California, she says it's my dad watching out for her. So I made her this quilt to remind her that Dad is always watching her from his place in Heaven.

We have two pairs of cardinals in our garden and I love watching them sit in the tree outside our kitchen window.
