This morning while Paul played basketball I got a few things done (like payroll and ironing) before we planned to leave for our "date" at 2 pm. We had a great afternoon. First we went to Newport Beach. For those of you freezing your butts off, it was a beautiful 64'F, no jacket required kind of day. We practiced with the new camera. It's going to take a while before I understand all this aperture and F-stop stuff, but it sure was fun having our own little photo shoot.
We decided we wanted to have some salumi tomorrow while we watch the Super Bowl, so we stopped at Claro's Italian deli and bought some yummy meats. I'll get some cheese and other stuff to go with it tomorrow morning. This deli has some of the best salumi around, as well as lots of other great Italian staples. I always buy my canned San Marzano tomatoes there, so I loaded up on a few cans of those too.
Finally we decided after going to an Italian deli that we wanted pizza for dinner. We went to one of our favorite "nice" pizza restaurants, Pizzeria Ortica, where we shared the octopus appetizer, the grilled artichoke appetizer and a spicy salami and mushroom pizza.
Our date ended kind of early. Since my mom is gone we have a dog sitting problem, we can only be gone for 5-6 hours at a time. So, we didn't have time for a movie but all in all it was a great day.
