Last month my long time friend, Carol, posted to her Facebook page that the first 5 people to comment to her post would receive a handmade gift from her sometime this year. The only catch was you had to play too, and post on your wall. I jumped at the chance and was Carol's first responder. I posted on my wall and only had one response (Jessica H., your gift is still in the works). But, if you read my blog you will see that I am involved in the One World One Heart Blog Tour and I am having a ball with reading other's blogs and signing up for their give-aways....back to Carol.
Carol is one crafty person, she sews, she quilts, she does needle arts...so I thought for sure this is what I would receive. Imagine my surprise and delight when I opened a small package today and saw these
a beautiful set of handmade note cards with photos taken by Carol and her husband, Larry, in South Africa.
What were they doing in South Africa you ask? Their beautiful daughter, Dana, was married there in October.
These photos are all so beautiful, but my favorite has to be the owl with those haunting eyes. I will hate departing with these cards but know that whoever is lucky enough to receive a message from me will treasure this gift like I did.
Thanks, Carol. This was a very special gift. (I will be sending a real thank you note to Carol)
