Works in Progess

I am excited to share some of the projects I am working on
and also a project or two I have planned.
First is Hexagon Park

designed by Lynne over at
Lily's quilts.
I am using  a Layer Cake of "Giddy" fabric designed by Sandy Gervais.
Since I am still not very confident on designing my own quilts
I usually follow patterns
of designers I admire.
I am a new fan of Lynne's designs.
So much so that I am also following one of her paper piecing
patterns called Big Little George.
I will probably make a pillow with the finished block.

I forgot how much I enjoy paper piecing.
The points are always perfect!
I'm raiding the scrap box for this one.
So far, it's looking good.
I also signed up for another charity quilt project.
This one is so simple.
I hope all you quilters out there will follow along
and make JUST ONE STAR.
The Moda staff and designers have created a new challenge.
The challenge is to piece,  quilt and bind 100 quilts in 100 days.
These quilts will be donated to soldiers who have been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Surely you can make Just One Star block.

I have picked out my fabrics and will make my star(s) this weekend.
And last...
I made my first mug rug.
I grabbed the first few scraps at the top of my scrap box
and just made a scrappy log cabin block.
And see that stylish coffee mug?
My sister drew the rooster and you can get one for yourself
in her Zazzle store.
She has created some beautiful art.
You can check out all of her beautiful drawings on her blog.
I purchased my fabrics for the
I'll post them when I get my fabric swap partner assignment this weekend.
It's been a productive week, already.

I've seen the beginnings of this quilt in person (Diane's my sister) and it's beautiful! She is amazing. Thanks for the "plug" on my art - so sweet ♥
