Celebrity chefs and a winner

Last night Mr. R and I, along with our friends, Monika and Willie, enjoyed a fabulous 5 course wine paired dinner. It was a fund raiser for our local children's hospital and was held at Roy's Restaurant in Anaheim. Roy Yamaguchi is a very well known chef and author with restaurants in Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Illinois and Texas.
Our son, Evan, was invited to be a guest chef at this event. We were just beaming with pride to hear the praise and accolades for Evan's talent from all the respected industry people who were involved in this event. Including Roy, there were several famous foodie type people involved in this dinner and it was an honor for Evan and his co-workers to be included in this event. But I don't know who were the bigger celebrities the chefs and wine makers or us! Everyone was coming over to our table to tell us how great they think Evan is, how much they love working with him, and what a talented chef and nice person he is. Think B*E*A*M*I*N*G parents right about here! People were looking at us trying to figure out why everyone was coming out of the kitchen to talk with us. Were we celebrities, too? You betcha! We loved every minute of it.

Now the real reason you are reading this post is to see who won the sewing machine cover.

How fabulous!! There used to be a Roy's in Atlanta and we had a fabulous dinner there several years ago. (I'm assuming it's not here anymore since your list did not mention Atl.) You should be VERY proud!

How wonderful to have a son who is a great chef....not much better than that....apart perhaps from a husband who is a great chef (I have neither...sob!). I hope you enjoyed being a proud mom!!!
