Wanna be Martha Stewart

The title of this post has been inspired by all the introduction emails I have been reading of the people who are attending the Sewing Summit. The one that cracked me up was Jen's, who blogs at Bettycrockerass. I love the name of her blog and decided I really should have named my blog "Wanna be Martha Stewart". Today I have had quite a Martha-like day getting ready for the Sewing Summit. I finished making a coordinating zippered pouch for the bag I am taking to the summit.
I also made a cover for my project sketch book/journal.

I thought that wasn't enough to do so I started by cleaning up my sewing mess, (although Martha would never have a mess like this)
because we decided to have a last minute family dinner party for my mom's 86th birthday. I made spaghetti and meatballs, a birthday cake,

and jarred up the olives we cured.

Yes, I am what you would call a domestic engineer and I would not have it any other way. Just to see the joy on my mom's face made it all worthwhile.

I love my life, but I really need a vacation and I am so looking forward to the Sewing Summit where I will to get meet Bettycrockerass and 158 other wonderful women and then I get to go to Las Vegas with Mr. Romance for his birthday celebration. Tomorrow I am packing. Yeah!
Thanks for stopping by,

Those are the cutest photos! LOVE your pouch and those journal covers are gorgeous - I keep meaning to make one. So so envious of you going to SS...have I said that before? And then Las Vegas? Keep away from those slot machines but put a chip on 7 red for me!

Ooh, look at you all set and co-ordinating :o) So wish I could some and play too, so you'll have to have about 10 times as much fun to make up for all of us living vicariously through you ;o)

Your mum looks so happy, though I take it she skipped the dancing on the table at her party, given the state of her hip... Happy birthday to her!
