I'm a winner and I have a Giveaway

A few weeks ago I won a prize at Amy Lou Who's mini quilt party. I love winning! Don't judge me, I know you love winning, too! I won a $30 gift certificate to the Old Red Barn Co. for $30 worth of Dana's (who blogs here)  hand made soaps. Now I know you are thinking, soap??? But this is not any soap. I went to the website and chose a selection of the different soaps and one scrub. Dana makes these soaps from goats milk which...well you can read it here in Dana's words "Believe it or not, goat's milk has been used as a natural beauty product for a long time. In fact, its use dates back to the early Egyptian times. Cleopatra, the Queen of the Nile, was famous for indulging in the rejuvenating and moisturizing properties of milk baths.

Today, we know that goat's milk is rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals. The alpha-hydroxy acids found in goat's milk attribute to its natural softening properties. The low pH of the milk when mixed into a soap makes a wonderful cleansing agent that is closer to your skin's natural pH level. This means that persons with delicate skin can trust a goat milk soap. Goat milk soap has even been recommended by doctors for sufferers of acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and sun burn. Goat's milk does not leave your skin feeling dried out or irritated. It leaves you feeling naturally clean and smooth. Goat's milk is also a great alternative to harsh chemicals and detergents
."
Not only are these soaps gentle and good for your skin, but they have the yummiest smells. My bathroom smells so good right now. And look how pretty they are! They would make a lovely gift, just in time for Christmas or Hanukkah!

Dana is offering my readers a chance to win a $30 gift certificate to try these soaps for themselves.  I wanted to buy the gift certificate but Dana, being the lovely sweet soul that she is, wouldn't hear of it. I'll give you the usual three chances.
1. Leave a comment telling me what your favorite smell is and what memory it triggers. Did you know that the sense of smell has the greatest power for triggering a memory?
2. Become a follower of my blog or tell me that you are a follower.
3. Tell me what your favorite holiday cookie is.

This giveaway is open to international as well as domestic participants. Mr. Random number generator will pick a winner on Wednesday, December 7th. Entries will close at midnight, Pacific time on December 6, 2011.

Thanks for stopping by,

Ooh, now, let me see. I think my favourite smell is the Christmas scents like cinnamon, allspice etc, as it reminds me of making the Christmas cakes with my mum when I was wee (I got to mix with my hands, because after the cake batter was mixed, there was no room for the beater and the fruit, and that was the BEST bowl to scrape out after, not to mention my entire fore-arms lol)

Thanks for the chance to win :o)

My favorite smell....lavender and sweat...ya, I know I'm weird. It reminds me of my grandfather. Turns out he used grandma's English Lavender soap. It is my favorite because the memories it conjures up are so unexpected.

Guess I need to leave 3 comments because I'd love 3 chances to win! I love lavender but not sure where that comes from other than to me it's very soothing.

My favorite cookies.....don't know, but I love my families annual "Flour Fling". My mom hosts a day of baking with her grandkids (8 boys and 2 girls ages 24-10). They make dozens of cookies and pack them all away for our family celebration on the 25th.

Favorite cookie that Mom used to make might be Chrusciki and my favorite that is a family favorite as well is peanut blossoms just because you can't beat the combination of peanut butter and chocolate! Oh, I also remember those candy cane cookies we used to make too with the real bits of candy cane on the outside...

OK, one of my favorite smells is a burning wood fire as it reminds me of grandparent's fireplace in the mountains- we've all switched to gas logs now which are easy (and I love that) but they don't smell as good.

My favorite smell is the bakery that my grandpa worked in years ago. I unfortunately do not live in the same town anymore, but every time I drove by the bakery and smelled the fresh bread being baked, I would think of my grandpa. He was a wonderful man, I am so very blessed that he was a part of my life.
