Before I make a mad dash to finish my mini for the Modern Mini Challenge
I wanted to get a quick post written in my 2012 Weekly series.
This week ended with some fun.
Mr. Romance and I took a drive to Mission Bay
in beautiful San Diego County.
How's this for a March day?
78'F, sunny and beautiful.
We are looking for a place to go camping for two nights with our grandkids this summer. We try to hold a "Cousin's Camp" for them each year. We have missed the last two years, so we promised them we will make it a priority this year and we really want to try camping. Cheater camping that is, in a mobile home, but that's about as much roughing it as we do. We found a place with an opening. Now we just need to convince ourselves that we can handle 7 kids between the ages of 4 and almost 10!
This was a week with little pops of joy. While in Mission Bay, we called an old friend and got to visit with them for a few hours. I have known these people for as long as I can remember. They were among my parents dearest friends and I grew up with their sons. It is always so great to see old friends.
I got to see our grandson pitch in his first baseball game for the season.
He gets his great form from his other grandfather, who pitched professionally!
I received a sweet text from my son, just because...
The Made in Cherry quilt top is finished and ready for basting.
I love this quilt and the fabric is still my favorite line, so far.
|I guess I should have given it a good pressing before the photo, and it's upside down. Oops!|
Here's the garden update:
The potatoes have been in their barrels for two weeks and they are growing.
Each seed potato has sprouted leaves.
I hope this means we will have a good crop this year.
I also planted some starter seeds today for French Charantais Melons (similar to cantaloupe) and my favorite Italian Zucchini, Romanesco.
It's hard to believe in about 6 weeks we will be planting the summer garden.
I hope you have had a good week, Spring is just around the corner.
Thanks for stopping by,
