Splendiferous Solids Swap

I received my long awaited For The Love of Solids package in the mail yesterday, and I can say it was most definitely worth the wait. My original mosaic included the Kona colors of Coral, Papaya, Chartreuse and Jade Green and what is funny is that Terrie ended up using almost the same exact colors that I used and fell in love with for my swap partner.  She started with Coral and then added what looks like Dark Violet, Pomegranate, Cerise, School Bus and Tangerine. Needless to say, this is one beautiful mini.

Not only is this mini lovely to look at but it is beautifully made. Each of those pieced squares are a tiny 1 1/2". It's quilted with a variegated thread and white thread and finished with 4 cute little buttons. No doubt, this will have a place of honor on the wall in my new sewing studio, as soon as I can decide on a paint color for the walls...but that's another blog post soon to follow.
As if the mini quilt was not perfect enough, Terrie also included a fabric basket made using Ayumi's wonderful tutorial, a pin cushion made using 1/2" squares and a bookmark. I am spoiled for sure.
Thank you to Terrie for this wonderful gift and to Elizabeth, my swap mama, for pairing me with Terrie.

Thanks for stopping by,

"di"
