The Perfect Dress

As a mom of 4 sons, sometimes I feel like I missed out on a few parenting pleasures by not having experienced raising a daughter. I'm not talking about the emotional outbreaks, worrying non-stop about boys, or the never ending fights over what they can and cannot wear. I'm talking about shopping for that first bra, or sharing my love of all things handmade, or having a princess themed  birthday party.  I am so blessed to have 4 sons who have brought me so much joy,  2 amazing daughters-in-law and also 4 granddaughters, so I think I will get my share of little bits of girly stuff as the years go by. I was very blessed to be included in all the wedding planning when our sons were getting married and was also included in the bridal dress shopping expeditions...and they are expeditions.
This week, I was asked by my best friend's daughter to go along on her bridal gown shopping expedition. Wedding gowns have changed in the last decade since my sons were married and so have the prices, but the experience was still priceless. There are grey wedding gowns, green ones and even black ones, but in the end a white, cream or ivory gown is truly the most beautiful.
Here are a few sneaky peaks, with out giving anything away, of shopping in Los Angeles at two bridal boutiques with Jennifer and her three daughters and one sweet granddaughter.
Thanks, Lindsay, for including me in this special experience usually reserved for mom's with daughters!

Thanks for stopping by,

"di"

Is one of those dresses "the" dress? They're all lovely. I can only imagine the cost!

Aww, how nice of her to include you. I can't imagine taking my mum wedding dress shopping, neither of us has much patience slothes shopping at the best of times lol Never mind, not likely to be a problem the way things are going!

Ha, I went to one shop, tried on four dresses and picked one (I was a very laid back bride!) Those frocks look fabulous, though! How nice getting to go (again!) and check out all the pretties.

Oh I`m quite loving the feathery one!! What a fun thing to do. I love weddings. My dream job would be wedding planner but no bridezillas!

I've had those very thoughts. I've got three brothers, and three sons, and five nephews. There are two nieces, but they live so far away that I am seldom included in this stuff. Some days I would be glad to play with a random girl off the street....but people frown on that sort of thing,

They all look so beautiful. It must have been a feast for the eyes to see all the glamour and the wonderful dresses. I can imagine how your shopping experience together was.
