Work in Progress Wednesday

I don't know about anyone else, but every time I turn around it's Wednesday!
I have had a record breaking week, 600+ comments on one post (proving that we all love giveaways), 100 new followers (thanks to the giveaway) and Mr. R and I joined a country dance class. We figured that if our son is going to be working in a restaurant that has a great saloon then we better know how to dance, so as not to embarrass him!

I received awesome mail from Katy I'm a Ginger Monkey. I won her Spring Carnival Template Set and she threw in some fantastic Basic Grey FQ's and a sampler set of Auriful thread (it's always fun to try new colors and weights of Aurifil). Thank you, Katy, this was a wonderful gift to receive in the mail.

I joined a new QAL on Flickr. It's the Retro Flower QAL put together by City Stitches and Sweet Diesel Designs . I was going to use some of my Flea Market Fancy, but I am not quite ready to cut into it yet, so I decided to go completely opposite everyone else in the group and use my stack of A Stitch in Color. Cutting with templates is a bugger, but the sewing of the curves is so easy with the Curved Piecing foot. This will be the third 60th birthday quilt I want to make this year for my very old friends (no pun intended).

I made this clutch using a new tutorial and a different kind of frame than I have made in the past. This is for a project I am working on that I have not shared about yet, but will soon. Isn't this a fun fabric? It's from a new line for Moda that will be coming out in the fall designed by my new blog friend, Brigitte. I'll be telling you more about these fabrics and the project I am working on for Brigitte in the near future.

I'm waiting for a delivery of some Kona solids and then I can finish the Granny Square quilt.

As usual, I am linking to Lee at Freshly Pieced.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

And one more tiny bit of exciting information, I'M GOING TO SEWING SUMMIT!

Thanks for stopping by,

Yay for new stalkers/followers :oD Congrats on your win too!

Love your pick for the retro flowers, my fabrics of choice just dropped through the door today, but we'll see how the rest of the 'To Do' list does for this weekend as to whether or not I'll get to it straight away. Mine will be a 61st birthday pressie :oD

Loving the clutch and the grannies, what colour of Kona did you go for in the end for the grey?

Oh, and thank god! I was getting kind of worried as you hadn't mentioned SS and I knew the tickets had sold out!

What with Hadley banging on about FQ retreat and now SS here, I am feeling very isolated downunder!! Better buy another lottery ticket, although I know SS tickets are sold out! Maybe next year? Your makes are all great BTW!
