Lunch with Friends

I have been friends with these girls forever. We all either had kids {we have 17 kids between the 5 of us} the same age who went to school together, or played sports together. We all went to the same church and always had regular girl time lunches and shopping trips when the kids were small. Then the kids grew up, some are married and have blessed us with {20} grandchildren . We have gone through good times and bad together, but for some reason since the kids got older, we have had less time to get together as a group. We were all at a party a few weeks ago and decided we have to make our lunches a priority, so I scheduled the first one for today.
Boy did we laugh! Instead of the conversation being about our kids' problems with school and teachers, or their sports dramas, we were talking about our problems as children of aging parents and our kids' dating ups and downs. Of course, we bragged about the grandkids and shared how much they are or are not like their parents. We said how much more relaxed we are at sports outings with our grandkids, "Who cares if they win, as long as they are having fun", one friend said. We talked about the best place to buy Depends (for our parents, not us, yet, anyway!) and how one gal, who shall not be named, calls her son's girlfriend, "the girl". Too funny, because she does not refer to her by her name.
Friends are the best! I am so happy to have these girls in my life and to be able to talk about anything and everything with them

Thanks for stopping by,

Great day put, and I repeat what I constantly tell you - you all do not look like grannies! Get yourself a cardigan, sturdy shoes and a knitting bag!

For years my friends and I had a first-Wednesday-of-the-month evening dinner date but it fell by the wayside a few years ago. We've started it back up again - I forgot how much I loved spending time with them!! And, yeah, check out the glamourous grannies!! Geez, you'd pass for yummy mmummies!!
