This Week in 2012, Week 22

Here's my recap of the week in photos.
This was the week you hopped to my blog from Jennifer's blog and hopefully were inspired to make something for the Summer Sewing Contest.

I finished piecing {1} quilt and basted, quilted and bound {2} quilts. This one was a race to the finish to get it in the running for the Retro Flowers competition on Flickr.

This one I am calling Cutting Corners because I used a jelly roll that I had won in a contest and some Kona Khaki that I had left from making this quilt. Then when I ordered the border fabric, I didn't order enough, so I had to "cut the corners" to make it work. I have had several requests for a tutorial on the pattern I used, but I am not making any promises. I am terrible at writing tutes!

The bride-to-be sure did like it.

Some of the favorite photos I took with Instagram this week are:
my gorgeous hydrangeas...

Happy mail from the Nostalgic Cafe blog, my winnings from Giveaway Day...

and this cute zippy pouch from my friend, Annabella in Marrakech.

We ate the last of the Ratatouille pasta sauce from the freezer, made with last year's garden harvest. This can only mean summer is just around the corner.

The first thing to harvest from the garden this season is this 15" cucumber.

We got to see our grandson play in the first of his baseball playoff games.

I finished the Photo a Day for May following Fat Mum Slim's list.

I missed a few days...

Here's the list for June if you want to play along.

Probably the photo that made me smile the most was this one of my Stitch Tease bee girls that Katy took for me. That's 5 of the 8 girls in our bee {Katy, Susan, Dianne, Hadley and Helen}. They were all at the Fat Quarter Retreat in London. Annabella was supposed to be there, too, but fell ill. I am hoping to go next year. It would be awesome if Danny could go too.

So that's my week, how was your week? I can't wait to read everyone's blog posts this week recapping the FQ Retreat in London.

Thanks for stopping by,

"di"

You did encourage me to make something! Not a bag, but a dress - yay! Great photos for May, and what a lovely quilt you made for the bride. Love the name.

As always, your hydrangeas are beautiful. And I really liked how you made one Retro Flower white with colored negative space. I may have to steal that idea!

As far as FQR... only if someone else is buying!! I'll have to Skype you guys or something!

So glad you posted pictures of the cutting corners quilt - I'm sitting here with Jelly Roll and yardage, about ready to start it. And NOW I've fallen in love with Retro Flowers, jeez! Thanks for sharing the June photo list - would love to try to keep up.
