Two years of blogging have come and gone in a blink of an eye. I started this blog as a travel journal in August of 2010 and it has evolved to include all these topics and more.
bees
friends
quilt-alongs
food
canning
swaps
gifts
challenges
quilts
bags
grandchildren
fabric
gardening
photography
family
recipes
travel
contests
In looking back over some of the projects I have shared in the last two years, these are among my favorites.
1. DSC_0102, 2. edens outfit, 3. Bloom/Sunflowers, 4. 3rd quarter bee blocks, 5. Circle me back to Amsterdam quilt, 6. Little Apples ensemble, 7. refashioned swag bag.after side 2, 8. post sewing summit swap, 9. Hexagon Park, 10. side 1, 11. framed clutch, 12. Made in Cherry QAL
1. Almost finished, 2. Rockin Robin quilt, 3. Simple Clutch, 4. Retro Flower QAL, 5. Fabric nesting bowls, 6. 241 tote and matching wallet, 7. Patchwork Chevron Quilt, 8. tomatoes, 9. Sunflower, 10. an Heirloom Swoon Quilt, 11. disappearing nine patch pillow, 12. momma's got a brand new bag
Through all this blogging I think the best part has been the friends I have made and the techniques I have learned. I was fortunate to have met several people last year at Sewing Summit and look forward to meeting even more blogging buddies at this year's Sewing Summit.
I have also been able to meet a few of my blogging friends in person, one on one, from as far away as Germany and the Czech Republic and in my own part of the country, one state away in Arizona.
One of the friends I have made is Julie from The Intrepid Thread.
Do you buy your fabric from Julie? If you don't you are missing out on fantastic customer service and unbelievable prices. Julie always sends a hand written note with your purchase and really makes buying fabric easy and quick.
In honor of my two year blog anniversary Julie has generously donated a Fat Quarter bundle of the much anticipated Indie by Pat Bravo in the Sunlight Bazaar colorway. That's 10 fat quarters, enough to make some lovely projects.
So because I love my readers so much I am going to give you four chances to win. Remember if you are a no-reply commenter, you must leave a valid email address in your comment.

Orignally I blogged for family and friends, but now I blog to be part of this wonderful community. Love it and wouldn't be without it. So pleased we became bloggy friends Di. You are brilliant! Congratulations on two years of incredible posts and inspiration.
I am most definitely a follower.
If I had the budget right now I would have a whole stack of Madrona Road. Love it, covet it, need it in my life.
I am a current follower, love your blog, happy anniversary!
I just bought the complete line of Oh Deer fat quarters from Julie, she is awesome!
I don't blog anymore, but when I did, it was to share my crafty life with a community that "understood" me. :)
I already follow your blog.
I think "Down Under" would make a sweet quilt for my niece/nephew on the way. Thanks for the chance and happy anniversary!
I blog so that I will be able to remember some of the parts of my life "right now" that I otherwise would forget. It is certainly my journal and record keeper. Not so much for public purpose, but the posts are written that way... maybe it's like I'm writing to my future self! Secondarily it's for friends and family who want to keep up with what I'm up to with out always calling or emailing me.
I'm a follower of your blog.
More Madrona Road is absolutely on my list. I bought a few cuts earlier in the month but I really really want more of that line!
I facebook-ed the contest!
I blog for myself...to have a record of things I do, it's like a journal. I hope that family keep up with us that way...and I've made some great friends too. =)
I follow you, Happy Blog Anniversary!! =)

happy blog birthday BTW
Happy Blogiversary! I blogged for five years, and finally gave it up in 2009. It was fun; but I just found that I'd rather spend that time doing other things (since I stare at a screen all day for work). :)
I follow your blog via Google Reader, and GFC
I really think I need some of that Wrenly Christmas - but which colorway?!
I blog sporadically at best, but I'm trying to do so in order to have photos and stories of the quilts I've made.
I follow you on Google Reader :)
I would love to buy Chicopee :)
Happy Blog Anniversary! I blog because I love journaling. I first started a paper diary in the 3rd grade, then played with online diaries in high school until switching to blogs. I've been blogging steadily for a few years now and I love it. I love having a record of my life and sharing my art / recipes / projects with the world.
I already follow your blog (ulixis.crafts).
I tweeted! https://twitter.com/giddy99/status/238986897060417537
I love the Cherry Christmas line - especially the washing line in advent! So cute!
I love your blog because it's a little bit of everything. Cooking, gardening, quilting, knitting, and sewing with your grand daughter! What's not to love?
I blog occasionally, so I can show what I am quilting. It doesn't happen often because I am a hand quilter, and it is a slow process.
I blog to be part of a community and to share and keep a record of my projects.
I follow your blog.
I follow your blog.
Already follow your blog on google reader!
I love Cherry Christmas
I want to buy some fabrics from the Joy Christmas line.
I'm loving the Ladies Stitching Club Fat Quarters In Tea Cakes. Pink and more pink.. YUM.
I love reading blogs, especially about quilting, because I get so much inspiration! and sometimes it's just what it takes to get me started on something new and wonderful.
I do not blog myself though I have considered it many times. I have such little free time with working and two young kids that I like to take a few minutes in the evening sewing. That said I love to follow and read blogs and have learned so much from them.
I follow your wonderful blog
And yes, Julie has wonderful stuff -- I'm in love with Cameo! Amy Butler started my love of the modern fabrics :-)
I blog as a record of what I've made, what I've received in swaps etc and as an encouragment to myself to keep making. Through the wonder of blogland I have been able to see what beauties everybody else makes, to learn a huge amount and to laugh. Keep on blogging.
I follow your blog and have enjoyed your wonderful travels, family stories and great makes
I am a happy follower of your blog.
Tweeted the giveaway.

I need to get some Cherry Christmas next
Sometimes I think I blog just to "hear"myself speak! lol. Mainly though, I just love having a place to share my crafts since I do not really have anyone in my life to share it with :)
Happy Blog Anniversary! I blog to share my thoughts with a community that I don't have in real life. And I've made some great friends through blogging - another great reason to be a blogger! :)
I want some of the Ladies Stitching Club fabric.
I am a new follower!

Ciao
scrivo dall' Italia, e ti seguo, e seguo Intrepid thread dove sto per comperare delle stoffe natalizie per un nuovo quilt.
Buon bloganniversario!
Sonia
I started blogging to help me remember my quilting journey. A time capsule of sorts. I'd hoped it would help me organize and document pictures of my projects but that is certainly still a work in progress.
The social networking has been a bonus and reading comments or seeing a new follower just makes my day!
I'm a follower. Happy Blog anniversary, year two.
Echino Decoro is calling my name - crazy animals.
I blog to release my writing creativity. My minor in college was journalism. I love to write. :) I love sharing too!
Congratulations! As a very new blogger, I love seeing how your blog has grown. It makes it a lot less intimidating when I remind myself that everyone gets better with time and I don't have to compare myself to "grown-up" blogs.
I follow your blog and your facebook/twitter
i blog because it is just so much fun to share and happy blog anniversary!
I do follow now that I found you. I becane 501
I would so buy madrona road. drool!

Happy Blogiversary!! I too started my blog as a Quilting journal, but quickly found many new friends from all over the world. Thanks for such a generous giveaway.
I checked out the shop and there are so many beautiful fabrics to choose from. But I think I would pick The Good Life next :-)
Why do I blog....like to show my making to others....it brings friends from all over the world, that is the great thing about blogging.
Kind regards,
Marga♥
I don't blog, I just use the dashboard. There are so many already awesome blogs out there, I don't think it's my niche.
I love The Intrepid Thread and buy almost all my fabric there. I just ordered some items last week--AMH field study and Chickopee, so I hope that counts for what I want most:) One thing I didn't get that I like are all the crosshatches from Madrona Road, but I have spending limits....
Happy Blog Anniversary! I started blogging to share with others my passion with polymer clay. Now I started sewing after many years of neglect and I've added my sewing experiences in my blog too. Too bad my blog name has reference to clay only but it's hard to change it.
I like to blog just as a kind of diary of what I'm up to. My kids and I like to look back at old blog posts. And maybe I will when I'm an old lady!
I would get a Pretty Little Things Fat Pack from the IT if I were to get anything. So pretty.
I've been following you!
Hello Di. I blog to keep a record of my quilting journey ; )
Yes, I already follow too
I currently don't blog, but I would. It would e to keep up with all the crafty things I do.
I follow you via rss
I ♥ to blog as a way to journal and show my pictures (I also keep a personal daily journal and can't print off pictures quickly enough for that) to family and friends!!!
I blog because my youngest recently left home and I have more time to share my passion of sewing and creations. I want to become a designer :)
I shared it on fb.
I just joined your blog :)
I am now a follower of your blog (do or "di") very cute!!! My email is mama_marfa@yahoo.com
I would like to get a walk in the woods
I started blogging as a way to put up pictures of my projects for my family to see so I wouldn't be bombarding them with emails and photos of the things I make!! It quickly turned into so much more, community and friendship. :)
I follow your blog via google reader.
I'll probably get some Tapestry prints from the Indie collection and I've always love Oval Elements from Art Gallery.
I visited Intrepid Thread and I love the new Chicopee fabric bundles.
I really like golden star by Tina Givens!
Over at the Intrepid Thread I ♥ the Pat Burch "Indie" and Sarah Jane "Out to Sea" collections!
P.S. the birthday pics of your granddaughter's are cute!!!
I follow you on Instagram too, clkh55. Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary! I have only been blogging for 5 months. You're a great example to me!
I follow your blog!!!
I love the Intrepid Thread and my next purchase will probably be some more Lilly Belle fabric!
Mostly I blog to show off what I've been working on, I guess - so since I haven't been sewing much lately, I haven't been blogging! My family and my best sewing buddy all live on the other side of the country, so my blog is the best means I've got to keep them up to date on my sewing adventures. :)
I follow your blog :) (and Julie's, for that matter!)
I'd love to get my hands on some Cherry Christmas - I love how sweet Aneela's lines always are, and this is no exception. I'm not a huge Christmas person, but this is too cute to pass up. The half-yard bundle in cardinal and advent that Julie has listed would be perfect for making a Christmas quilt!
Congrats on this outstanding achievement and best of luck as you move forward!
I mostly blog to share what I make with others out there!
I don't have a blog yet, but I have a long list of blogs I visit often. I love all the creative ideas here.
Your blog is one I follow and I love your ideas!
i follow you :)
i adore Julie- she is incredible!! She's my go to shop! I am on the list for Nursery Versery- can hardly wait to get it :)
i blog to prove to see how i progress and to connect to others that i can learn and share with. sewing provides inspiration and seeing how different we all all with the same "hobby" is just amazing to me!
Why I blog? To meet others that have the same interest as I do. I met you!! Congrats on 2 years Di.
Of course I'm a follower! :)
Over at Intrepid Thread I want to buy some of the Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey.
My blog is a dedication to my mother, she died when I was only 16 years old. She was aREAL craft woman, we always had knitted clothes!!!!
I also blog to meet lovely people all over the world/ Already several times I discovered that blogland is a good land to live in....
I became a follower
I also be a follower of intrepid thread. I think I will wait till Bella arrived.....
Happy Blogaversary! I started blogging almost a year ago as a way to archive my work and more easily share it with friends and family who don't live close enough to see it in person.

Happy Blog Anniversary!! I've been a happy follower of your blog for a while now :)
New follower of your blog here.
I started my blog to have my own place to write about what I love.
I blog mainly for myself as a record of my completed projects.
I love The Intrepid Thread. Right now I am trying to show some restraint and not purchase the entire FQ bundle of Madrona Road.
I haven't started a blog of my own yet but I do enjoy reading all the blogs that I currently follow. Congratulations on your blog anniversary.
I would buy Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey.
I've met Julie through our Quilt Guild. Her shop is definitely having success these days. I looked around and like La Dee Da the best. Thanks for hosting a great giveaway.
Congratulations on two years blogging!
I blog for a number of reasons...
1.) It's another creative expression.
2.) It's a way for me to document my creative process, with a purpose.
3.) I get to communicate with some truly gifted and talented individuals, and become inspired by them.
4.) I can share knowledge that I've picked up in my time as a quilter.
Thanks so much Di and Julie for the amazing giveaway!
I really started focusing on blogging when I moved away from the city I'd lived in all my life to a much smaller community. I found it really hard to meet people in person and found myself sewing a lot and boring my husband with my talk of it. Blogging gives me a place to talk about the craft I love and meet people, so even though I now live in an even smaller town I feel like I'm part of a huge community!
I'm a follower - who wouldn't be!
I've subscribed to your blog via Google Reader.
I'm very much in love with the entire Bukhara line, available at Intrepid Threads.
I blog to have a place to show off what I've done. My immediate friends and family get a little bored with my "look at this cute thing I made" so I need a bigger outlet for my bragging!
Happy blogiversary!
I follow your blog.
Ok, I'm not going to Julie's site because I know if I do I'll order a bunch of fabric and I'm not letting myself do that until September. But if I did there'd be a bunch of field study, some chicopee, definitely a little madrona road...
Thanks for the giveaway!
Happy 2nd Anniversary! The blogs are a great source of inspiration.
I love the nursery versey line. Looks like it's selling fast!
After looking at your blog,I am going to start following your blog. You have some interesting projects. The one that caught my eye was a hexagon quilt.
Hi Diane, Happy Blog Anniversary to you! I blog so I have my quilts are cataloged in some way and also to get feedback. Thanks for the giveaway!
I started my blog because none of my friends in "real life" quilt and I wanted to be a part of a sewing community. While I don't blog as much as I used to I still love it and hope to do it more often when my kids are a little older.
Happy Blogiversary!
I am a follower as you know it already :)
There ar so many fabrics I would like to buy at the intrepid thread. I love Indie but I am also interested in Field Study and Bella.
I follow your lovely blog!
My next purchase from Intrepid Thread will probably be more Birds and the Bees or Chicopee. I have FQ bundles of both of these lines, but I think I might need more...
