A Look Back at July

Zilch, nada, nothing, zippo...you get it? I have no big finishes to show you for July but I am still linking up with Lily's Fresh Sewing Day.

Lily's Quilts

The only real finish I have I can't really show you because it is a secret for Danny Mommy For Reals. She won't see the real thing until next year when she receives a whole quilt top sewn by 6 other blogging friends in our Stitch Tease bee.

I had 2 small finishes for Jeni's HST BOM. I really like how these blocks are coming together and think this will be a fun quilt when it is finished.
I am participating in the WinterKist blog hop with Katie and my day is August 21, so make sure to stop by and see what I have finished for the hop.
Also in the works here, you can see my Hexie MF flowers, that are coming together, slowly but surely, a bee block for the Modern Stitching bee on Flickr, and I made salsa with tomatoes and jalapenos from the garden.

I finally pulled this quilt out to sew the binding on it. I forgot how much I love this quilt and what a gorgeous job my long arm quilter, Susie, did quilting it for me.

The majority of my sewing are still works in progress, so I am also linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.
WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

I am also participating in the photo a day with Fat Mum Slim, so here is the list for July

and my photo a day calendar.

Here is the list for August if you want to play along.

This week's sewing lesson with my granddaughter was so fun. I gave her the option of making a skirt or starting a quilt where we make a different quilt square each week.
Guess what she chose?

I gave her free reign on my scraps, so it will be a totally scrappy/sampler quilt. Look at those perfect points. She is such a great student!

Thanks for stopping by,

"di"

Geeee, you didn't want to lug your stash and sewing machine around Europe? Imagine that.

Love your sweet grand daughter!

Even when you have an 'unproductive' month you still manage to do way more than the rest of us!!

There is an awful lot of pics of gorgeous things in that mosaic for someone who had an 'unproductive' month! ;-)

You get more done in an 'unproductive' month than most of us do on a regular basis! Love seeing all the variety!

You have still accomplished some lovely stuff, and your greatest achievement must be the sewing lessons.

I think you had a great month, especially if you add in that vacation too! And your granddaughter is clearly will be a wonderful quilter.

Your swoon quilt is gorgeous!
P.S. I saw you comment on Scarlet Fig about wanting to free motion quilt--I know exactly what you mean. I'm such a chicken--I only straight line quilt...

I agree your swoon is wonderful and I too am jealous of your lack of progress I need to get my butt in gear so I can start working on some projects.
