iPad Cover with Handles

My sweet friend, Mim, asked me to make her an iPad case with handles. She likes red, so I used some of my Juggling Summer stash and made her one.
I fused Thermolam to both the lining and the outer fabrics and when I got it all sewn together the iPad would not fit. So once again the un-picker was my best friend. I took out the side seams and added a strip of Madrona Road text print and I actually like it even better. The black really sets off the red print.
This iPad case was mailed off to my friend on Monday so I think she will receive it by today. I hope I haven't ruined the surprise, but she is going through a death in the family so I doubt she is doing any blog reading right now.

You're right - the black is a great feature! Did you use a particular tutorial or was it your own design?

That is a lovely gift and I love that it has handles, great for a klutz like me.

I think iPads are sneaky like that - mine has to breath in to fit in the case I made!
I am sure she will love it x

That is so cute! I really want to make a kindle carrier with handles for my daughter for christmas. Did you just wing it or did you have a pattern?
I have another question for you...you said that you were going to use Essex Linen for your Giant Star Quilt. Is that hard to work with? Does it need to be washed with special care? I have a bunch but I've never used it before. It makes me nervous, ha ha!

Great idea with the handles, my mum has requested a cover for hers for Christmas. I made one for dad earlier in the year, but he had multiple requirements for his that she, thankfully, doesn't have!
