This Week in 2012, Week 48

Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is behind us I should have really buckled down and put the pedal to the metal on my Christmas list. I did do a little Cyber Monday shopping, but nothing that makes a major dent in my list.

What I did do was spend an afternoon with my grandson helping him with his Heritage Project.  Thanksgiving Day he interviewed my mom about our Polish heritage and on Tuesday I helped him  made his Polish clothespin doll. He turned out pretty cute, with his wool felt vest, boots and hat and a shirt, pants and sash. We named him Stanislaus, which means Stanley in Polish.

I finally went to Ikea and bought some DVD storage and a shelf unit to start organizing my fabric stash. I also got some bolt board {free} from JoAnn's so I can store my larger cuts of fabric. I have been folding fat quarters and wrapping 1/2 yard- 2 yard pieces around comic book cardboards for the last 4 days. This is a huge project. I really did not realize how much fabric I have.

I think I might have to have a de-stash sale after Christmas because this is only about half of my fabric stash. Doesn't it look pretty on those white shelves?

I need to buy more shelf units. This is the mess I started with. I am hoping to finish this week.

We started decorating for Christmas this weekend. We usually put up the tree together and then I take the next 3-4 days and do a little at a time until the whole house is decorated the way we like it.

we still need to set up the train and finish around the bottom of the tree.

Another month has come to a close and that means my photo a day calendar is complete for November.

Here's the list for December.

Destash sale. Sounds good. I like all of your bolts of solids. That is what I need to do.

I hate organising. I love that feeling of satisfaction when it is finally done though.

Stanislaus is so cute, and I don't think you have too much fabric at all.

Your sewing room looks great! I got some fabric cardboard on Monday from Joann's as well! I wrapped my flannels and made everything so organized. I like your CD storage for your fabric. I am hoping to have a bit of bigger space when we moved to next place...

I have the Ikea white shelves, for books though. That is one impressive Christmas tree. Is it a real tree?

I love the doll you made. My grandfather's name was Stanislaus and I went to elementary school at ST. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr.
