I can tick one more project off of my 2013 Finish-A-Long. I have finished all samples for the class I will be teaching at Sew South Retreat next month and written the pattern.
This final clutch does not look finished, but it is ready to demonstrate how to glue the purse into the frame. It is made with a mini charm pack of Cuzco by Kate Spain. I made a few alterations to the pattern to allow for the patchwork, which makes it just a little bigger than the pattern because it does not have a bottom seam. After sewing the squares together, I fused some Shape Flex to the backside before quilting it onto a piece of batting. I have been playing with different weights of interfacing to see which one I like best. I also fused some Pellon Heavyweight interfacing to the lining before assembling the clutch.
My three samples are ready. Now to practice speaking without blushing...that will be a challenge.
You can purchase the PDF pattern on Craftsy.*
*This is the way I make framed clutch purses. It works for me. If you try it I hope you'll let me know.

These look great, love the fabric choices. I have all of the stuff to make some of these, and I will make one at some point, one day!

Go Di, you can do it!
Oh I so wish I was going to be there xxx
Thanks for the pattern.
Very cool you are going to teach! So do you like the combo of Shape flex + heavy interfacing better than fusible fleece?
