Sample Swap

In March, when I was at the Sew South Retreat, we had a sample swap. I brought framed clutch purses to swap and Lindsay brought travel make-up bags. I was not lucky enough to be in her swap group but I am lucky enough to own one of her beautiful designs. Since I made such a fuss over the bags she brought to swap she was kind enough to make me one and send it after we got home from the retreat.
She made my bag to match the Comma Travel Duffle I made at the retreat.

I'll be traveling Handmade to the Fat Quarter Retreat next month.

Lindsay's pattern {Cosmetics Case} can be found on the Pellon Projects website. Lindsay is a great pattern writer. The instructions are so clear and detailed. You must try making this.

As soon as I saw these bags I knew I wanted to make them to trade at the sample swap at Fat Quarter Retreat in London next month.

So I made one out of Juggling Summer.

They are waterproof and have 3 zipper pouches for make-up...or whatever you want to put in them.

One is made of the Half Moon large dots

I love the Madrona Road text print for binding.

This cute cat print makes great bags.

I hope my swap partners will like these bags as much as I do.

That is a fairly easy pattern to follow. Might be just what the doctor ordered for my zipper challenge for the Austin Modern Quilt Guild this month. We have three 7" zippers to use.
