I am not making very many gifts this year for Christmas but I did manage to sneak in a little sewing time and make another Christmas pillow.
This one is a simple spinning pinwheel block of red and green fabrics. I didn't even use any real Christmas fabrics on the front and it still looks very festive. It probably helps that one of our favorite Santas is sitting next to this pillow. We bought him in New Orleans, in 1988, at a really cute shop. He is made of vintage recycled quilts and he is a treasure.

Quilting this pillow gave me a little headache. I couldn't decide how to quilt it and really wanted to try something fancy, like holly leaves or snowflakes like my IG friends suggested, but in the end I settled for a simple spiral in the center and then pebble quilting in the corners.
After all that the pillow was no longer square. IG friends to the rescue again. They said after I put the pillow form in no one would be the wiser. Right again! I am trying to lose my perfectionism and go with the flow.
A simple envelope back in a Christmas print bought at my LQS finishes off the pillow nicely. It's stuffed with a 24" pillow form, so it is LARGE!
This pillow is a gift for friend. I hope she likes it.
