Winterkist Christmas Pillow

A few weeks ago I finished piecing a ripple quilt using AmandaJean's tutorial. While I was waiting for the backing to arrive [more on that later], I cut up the scraps and made a Christmas pillow for my hairdresser. I have an appointment with her this week and wanted to give her something handmade for Christmas.
Just a simple patchwork layout, made of 2" finished squares.
I used one of the Gnomes that got cut in half to embellish the front.
For the back I used the IKEA Britten numbers fabric, made a simple envelope style back, and embellished it with a pink Gnome.
Traci's pillow looks really cute sitting under my tree with the two pillows I made last year in the Happy Zombie Winterkist blog hop. Too bad I decided to give it away.
See those cross stitched pillows? I made those back in the late 70's-early 80's when I was a cross stitching fanatic. That passion has been transfered to my sewing and quilting skills.
The Sketch Flannel in Kiss Pink has since arrived. I pre-washed it yesterday and really hope I can get the quilt finished by Christmas. It is a really weird size but will be great for many people to snuggle under at Christmas time. I have to say the flannel fabric washed beautifully and didn't twist or fray as I thought it might.
20 Days and counting...

Your cushions are ALL gorgeous. I have a particular fondness for anything cross-stitched (my first crafty obsession as a mid-teen) and it's always a treat to see things made in years gone by!

Lovely projects! I love that chevron quilt - I had gone looking on her blog and it was gone, so I'm so glad the tutorial is back!
Your pillows are great!
