Mom's Posey Socks

These socks were supposed to be my mom's Valentine's Day gift, but after making one sock I got bored.

I've decided I really like mindless socks that you do not need to pay attention to a pattern for every row.

These socks have a 32 row pattern. That means I was constantly looking at the book for every row. It was not a pattern I could memorize. Maybe if I was a better knitter I would have known by the look of the rows what stitches to do next.
But, I finally finished them this past weekend and I couldn't wait to go see my mom and deliver them.

She couldn't figure out what I was giving her, but she sure was surprised and touched when she saw them.

I had her put them on right away and model them. She made sure to tell me not to show her bunions. My mom has the worst feet. They have caused her so much pain. It sure made me feel good to give her some cozy, Posey Socks.

Sock Stats:
Pattern: Posey Socks from the book Socks From The Toe Up
I used the Fish Lips Kiss Pattern for the Heel.
Yarn: Confetti Cupcake from Candy Skein
Needles: Addi Turbo Sock Rockets US size 1; 2.5 mm 40" circular needles.

I am happy to say this is a tick on my Finish A-Long list.

Such pretty socks! And the look on your Mum's face says it all! And it must be nice to have them off the UFO list!

I love to see hand knit socks as gifts, you know someone loves you when they take the time to knit you socks and clearly your mom loves them and you. They are very pretty. I am with you, it is more fun to knit socks with a simpler pattern but these are beautiful and worth the time you spent.

The first thing Mom did when I got there yesterday was to show me her socks. They are so pretty and what an intricate pattern. When then proceeded to talk about how well you do everything you put your hand to!
