11.14.14

Our youngest son married his lovely girlfriend on November 14, 2014. They planned a private ceremony on the bluffs of Santa Barbara.

It was really hard to understand the reasons that they wanted to get married this way. We had our moments of sadness and questions of why they wanted to have a private ceremony, but after seeing the photos and the video and seeing how much they love and respect each other, it really doesn't matter how or where they said their vows.

We are so very happy for Briana and Kyle and love them for their commitment to each other. We look forward to seeing all the blessings God has planned for these two.

Seeing the emotional tears of joy and happiness as they read each other their vows was very moving for us.

These are some of my favorite photos of their special day.

After watching the video {like 100 times}, I feel like I was there and enjoyed every single moment with them. I also see why they thought the private ceremony on the beach was the way to go. It was very romantic and very Kyle and Briana.

I hope you will watch the video and enjoy the beauty of their ceremony. To quote Kyle, "Since ‪#‎butterballbulldog‬ was the only person invited to our wedding, I'd like to share the video with all of you but first I'll sum it up: Briana was stunning, I cried like a little baby, and the officiant called me "Dr. Kyle" which was really weird and I didn't notice until seeing the video. Enjoy"

We can't wait to see where life's journey will take these two.

I'm glad they were able to do this their way and that you were able to let them. I have one getting married in July and I am about ready to suggest this!!

What a great video. I love the donuts and I bet there's a great story behind them. I bet it was a bit difficult to swallow at first but I can see why this was their decision.

I was wondering about their wedding... Beautiful photos. I don't blame you for feeling sad, and I wish them all the happiness. And you too, of course.

Absolutely gorgeous. I did have to laugh at the image of the groom with a leash tied around his wrist... makes you wonder, until you see the later photo with the dog !!!!

Lots of room for jokes about 'tying the knot' there ! Congratulations to them and you.

the video is breathtaking. i can see both sides of the wedding. my parents were unable to make it to my wedding (short notice and far away) and it bothered my mother. she's now gone and i do wish i had that time with her, especially since i am her only child to have gotten married before she passed.

Oh Di - the video!! I cried too and I'm not a crier for people I don't know but the little yelp your daughter in law gives (or perhaps it was Butterball)after she's given her vows, the first kiss and the way your handsome son looks into his wife's eyes is so powerful. What a cool setting and I admire them for avoiding the razamataz that we can all get sucked into although I know how difficult it was for you and I totally understand. What a beautiful couple (clearly inside and out). Is Brianna a model? She looks so red carpet - her wedding dress is so stunning. Congratulations to the happy couple and may God bless them.

Fabulous photos! Should anyone ever ask me, I'm totally getting married alone, I just couldn't stand the pressure of pleasing everyone else

What beautiful pictures! It would be hard to accept that, my husband and I eloped even now I sometimes miss that I didn't get to have my family there to celebrate. But we have a really fun story so there is of course more happiness to the story too. Congratulations to them!!!

Beautiful! Really special! Fun to see that they are living in my adopted hometown too.
Our kids are in their mid-twenties and I wouldn't be surprised if our daughter calls us one day to let us know that she and her partner have married. We love him and of course would love to be at their wedding... but I can imagine them doing it very privately as well. Our son is an extreme mountaineer and I often joke that if he gets married I'll need to be helicoptered in to the site!

hugs to you. And much happiness to your handsome son and his beautiful bride!
